Our New Fruit Boxes | Fruit For The Office
Introduction
Fruit For The Office is committed to levelling up the services that we provide when completing fruit delivery to offices. From clicking “order” to having your vegetables and fruit carefully selected, packed and delivered – We try to make our services as seamless as possible. We recognise that there’s always room to improve, no matter how great the services can become. Our operations team are constantly researching and developing new methods to go above and beyond in the industry, showing caution to the mark we leave. Sustainability is one of things at the front of what we do, and we pride ourselves on the progress that we’ve made, and tingle with excitement at all that’s left to do. Our next big step in sustainability is a complete redesign of our boxes we complete our fruit and veg delivery in.
Understanding The New Boxes
The current design of our fruit boxes has a lot of empty space. The extra volume that the box allows for just isn’t being used. Now whilst it’s nice to have and not need, it’s better to reduce and save the environment.
We’ve developed a method to reduce the sizes of our boxes without compromising the quality of them, or the amount of fruit within them. We’ve done this so well that our new boxes are now smaller in volume by ≈40%! The smaller size ultimately reduces the amount of Cardboard required by a whopping 46%, that’s almost half the amount of cardboard per box! At the current rate of delivery, that would mean we’re saving up to 6 Tonnes of Carbon Emissions a year, and that’s not even factoring in our growth rate!
On top of this, the smaller design allows for a sturdier box, which means that during deliveries, boxes aren’t likely to get damaged.
The Open-Top design means that you can just reach in and pick the fruit straight out of the box, without having to open any lids.
This new box will slowly replace all of our current ones, and this should be happening over the course of a few weeks (starting mid-way through June), revamping our fruits for delivery service.
In the Future
We’re constantly aiming to create systems and make changes to keep up with the ever-evolving world, minding our footprint wherever we go. This change is only a small step in the right direction, and we hope to make several more. Afterall, lots of small victories added together can make something great indeed.
So, To Recap
